The "Red" level introduces beginners to the game at its most basic stage. Students will learn; what golf is; how it is played; simple rules and etiquette suitable to this level; as well as swing fundamentals. At this stage we are emphasizing safety, fun and learning the basics.
For a child to advance to the "Gold" level, they must demonstrate the ability to perform the basic pre-swing and in-swing fundamentals of putting, chipping, the swing, and pass a very basic written exam on rules & etiquette.
The "Gold" level focuses more on performance through correct technique. At this stage the child has learned the basics and is starting to be concerned with results (control of distance and direction on the green, basic chip and run shot, and getting the ball air borne). The emphasis is still on being safe and having fun but the child should begin to get more interested in correct technique at this point.
For a child to advance to the "White" level, they must demonstrate the ability to perform the basic pre-swing and in-swing fundamentals of putting, chipping and half swings as well as achieve satisfactory results.
The "White" level focuses on developing the short game with an introduction to the full swing. Students will learn about ball control around and on the green. At this point, students should have a thorough understanding of basic rules and etiquette. While safety and fun are always a focus, kids should begin to enjoy the competitive aspect of the game as well.
For a child to advance to the "Black" level, they must demonstrate the ability to get the ball up and down in a predetermined amount of strokes on a short game course. They must also show that they can play by the rules and display good etiquette.
The "Black" level focuses on ball striking and playing, while continuing to emphasize short game skills. Students will learn to apply their skills on the golf course. At this point, students should have developed a complete repertoire of the basic golf shots and are beginning to use their skills on the course effectively. Students will also be exposed to specialty shots.
